In December Torrey surprised me with a trip to Italy for my graduation present. This man has always been the best at surprises. He had me convinced that I was going to drive with him to Denver and then drive back home the next day. As we pulled up to the airport we parked the car, which I thought was odd because normally you just drop the person off. I didn’t think much more about it though, just figured he wanted me to see him off. I helped him with the luggage and then we arrived at the ticket counter. I stood behind him, and the lady checking him in mentioned my name... wait what? Torrey turned around and said, “Well I guess this is the time to tell you that you’re joining me.” I was completely shocked and crazy excited. The awh I have for this man and all that he does for me.
I had packed a togo bag full of the essentials. Thank goodness I had that because as you know from my last blog post I was expecting. Torrey took it upon himself to pack for me, and surprisingly did very well.
We arrived in Florence, Italy late that evening. We stayed at the most beautiful hotel right next to the river walk. Europe definitely knows how to decorate for Christmas, if you haven’t gone during this time of year, seriously put it on your bucket list. You won’t be disappointed.

Luckily I did very well with eating and experiencing all the goodies without having too much nausea. My number one recommendation to combat the nausea is to eat literally right away when you start to get those hunger pains. The food was phenomenal. It didn’t matter what meal it was it was all heaven. We ate at this steak house one evening and the Gnocchi was so delicious. It was rich, fresh, and just melt in your mouth yum. I’m a lover of pizza and pasta so Italy was definitely the place for me!
We took a day trip on the fast train to Venice and enjoyed the food, walking around, and exploring the city that floats on water.

Our days in Florence were spent touring museums, the art work is exquisite and breath taking.

This vacation was a dream and certainly one to remember. I can’t wait to go back and indulge in some amazing Italian food. Ciao!
